DPSC Q1 PAT Up At Rs 3.64 Cr
Power utility DPSC Limited has recorded Rs 3.64 crore profit after tax (PAT) for the three month period ended June 30, 2010.
The power utility had registered a profit of Rs 11.73 lakh during the same quarter (April-June) of 2009-10.
Mr. Hemant Kanoria, chairman, DPSC, said, "With the vast opportunity made available by the government's investment plans in the power sector, things definitely look upbeat for DPSC."
Moreover, the administration has declared to append 100,000 megawatt during the 12th Five Year Plan.
DPSC Ltd is involved in the creation, transmission and allocation of electrical energy in West Bengal.
The company holds and runs two generating stations at Chinakuri having total generating capacitance of 30 MW and at Disherdarh with a generating capability of 12.2 MW.
DSPC also has two 11 KV networks, which comprise one covering Disherdarh and Chinakuri regions and the other wrapping up the zones of Seebpore, Luchipur, Satgram, and Bankola.
DPSC Ltd caters to the power needs of collieries of West Bengal, state electricity board, distributing licensees, infirmaries, nursing homes, pump houses, railroads, and refractory and glass works, in addition to TV and radio stations.
