Navjot Kaur, wife of BJP MP from Amritsar Navjot Singh Sidhu, has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Apollo Hospital in New Delhi for febrile illness.

According to a hospital spokesperson, ''She was admitted yesterday evening with febrile illness.''

The spokesperson added that Mrs. Sidhu developed viral fever a few days back and was admitted to a private hospital in Patiala, Punjab.

As her blood platlet count declined, she was brought by an air ambulance to the Apollo Hospital,.

''A team of medical specialists is monitoring her condition in the intensive care unit. Presently, her condition is critical but stable,'' the spokesperson stated.

Navjot Singh Sidhu is a former Indian batsman. After retiring from cricket, Sidhu opted for TV commentary, political career and films.

Sidhu was elected at the Lok Sabha as a member from Amritsar in 2004 on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket. (With Inputs from Agencies)
