Bharti net dips 8% on rising competition
The number one mobile service provider of the country Bharti Airtel has been reported to have a fall in its quarterly profit. The company has announced its results and it has not produced a desired output so far as Bharti is concerned. The quarterly profit of the mobile giant of India has dipped by 8%. It was reported to be Rs 2,055 crore for the quarter.
According to market experts, the fall in profit is due to the high competition in the market.
Although the company has managed to enhance its consumer base in this period of time, but its net income has not reached the levels to impress market experts.
There are around 12-13 mobile service operators in the country. And a very tough competition is going on between all these providers. Every other day they are coming up with some new plan to attract the customer. Moreover the per-second billing has also pulled the income down.
In this quarter the revenue has grown up by 2% and has touched Rs 10,056 crore. But for the same time the company has recorded the highest ever traffic on its network too. It was up by 19.6 billion minutes which is almost 13% up from the third quarter.
The stock price of the telecom major has seen a major fall during the recent times as analysts were expecting pressure on margins and growth in the Indian market for the company. The company has acquired stake in other emerging telecom markets and this may help the company to deliver better performance in upcoming quarters.
