Manmohan Singh to meet Pakistan’s PM on Thursday
In a bilateral meeting, the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is expected to meet Pakistan's Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Thursday. It is believed that the Indian PM will be showing its unhappiness over the lack of credible action by Islamabad to punish perpetrators of 26/11 and end cross-border terrorism.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Vishnu Prakash has recently said that both the authorities have agreed that there should be a bilateral meeting between PMs of both the countries. It is perhaps the first bilateral engagement since they met in Sharm-el-Sheikh last year in the month of June.
Though, Prakash didn't confirm the timing of the meeting but the sources say that the meeting is lined up in the evening on Friday. The sources further added that the Indian Prime Minister taken update on the investigations under the Mumbai terror attacks from Gilani.
Moreover, it is believed that Singh will also highlight the increasing terrorism threat from the neighboring country and advising the Pakistan's PM to take concrete steps against the same. On the other end, Pakistan is expected to highlight the water-sharing issue in front of Dr. Singh.
