Godrej Consumer net profit up by 54%
Godrej Consumer Products (GCPL) has announced its annual financial results. As per the report, the net profit of the company has gone up by 54% during the financial year. The net profit has touched Rs. 284 crore for the year. The company has managed to enhance its net profit with a fall in the operating costs.
The Mumbai based company has informed that the net sales has improved by 17% and has reached Rs 1,268 crore in the financial year. At the same time the cost of the company has been reduced to 4% i. e. of Rs 215 crore. Moreover the net profit of the fourth quarter has went up by 12.5% to Rs63 crore.
The consolidated earnings have also seen a mammoth improvement. The acquisition of Africa- based Tura and Indonesian company Megasari Makmur has propelled the company's annual earnings and net profit.
According to Ajay Parmar, head of research, Emkay Global, the integration of Sara Lee has contributed hugely in to the profit for this financial year. However the GCPL stock has seen a slight decline of 3% after the announcement.
