Former test opener Mohsin Khan appointed as chief selector by PCBFormer Test opener Mohsin Hasan Khan has been appointed as the new chief selector by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

He will replace former leg spinner Iqbal Qasim who had resigned from the post owning moral responsibility for the team's pitiable performance in Australia.

The Daily Times quoted a PCB spokesperson, as saying," Mohsin will begin his duties with immediate effect. Mohammad Ilyas, Salim Jaffer and Azhar Khan will continue as regular members of the selection panel while Asif Baloch and Farrukh Zaman will be co-opted members of the committee."

He would take the final decision regarding his strategy only after meeting PCB chairman Ijaz Butt, Mohsin said.

According to the Daily Times, Mohsin said," I will finalize my strategy once I meet chairman of the board. I have a passion to serve Pakistan cricket and will do my best to select players on merit." (With input from agencies)
