SRK-Kajol Starrer ‘DDLJ’ Completes 750 Weeks
Love story "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge", one of the biggest smash hits of Bollywood, has attained yet another record after finishing 750 weeks of continuous play in a theatre.
This Sunday, the heartwarming film will complete 750 weeks of continuous screening at the Maratha Mandir theatre in Mumbai.
Directed by Aditya Chopra and featuring the ideal pair of Shahrukh Khan and Kajol, the film opened to jam-packed houses and rave reviews throughout the world way back on October 20, 1995.
This evergreen Yash Raj Film continues the longest running movie in the record of Hindi film industry, as it passes one milestone after another, and is currently running in its 15th year.
The delight of the movie keeps pulling viewers back year after year.
Grossing more than Rs 580 million in the Indiaan market and Rs 175 million abroad, DDLJ became the biggest Bollywood hit of all time.
The film completed its 700 weeks during March 2009.
On October 20th, 2009 the movie finished 15 years of non-stop play and it was included in the Cinema India showcase, "The Changing Face of Indian Cinema", which traveled US in July and August 2004.
Indiatimes Movies grades the film amongst the 25 Must See Hindi Movies.
