Somdev-Prakash duo crashes out of Australian Open
The campaign of the Indian pair of Somdev Devvarman and Prakash Amritraj has came to a halt in the men's doubles event of the Australian Open as they have lost their second round match at the Melbourne Park on Friday.
Somdev-Prakash duo has went down to Sweden-Australian pair of Simon Aspelin and Paul Hanley in straight set 1-6 3-6 in the second round of the men's doubles event. The unseeded Indian duo looked helpless against the 13th seeded pair of Simon and Paul.
Meanwhile, Leander Paes and Sania Mirza will pair up in the mixed doubles event as Mahesh Bhupathi has ruled himself out of the Australian open due to a calf muscle injury. Bhupathi and Sania had won the mixed doubles title in the Australian open last year.
Speaking to media, Bhupathi said that he had received the injury during training last Monday and he was advised to take rest for 10 days. He added that his injury has troubled him once again in the match and now he will return to home for recovering from the injury.
