EADS Kicks Off R&T Unit In Bangalore
With the intention to take up combined projects in the regions of engineering and IT, EADS Innovation Works, the technology division of global aerospace major EADS (European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company) kicked off its research & technology (R&T) branch in Bangalore.
EADS Innovation Works India would look after and broker research and technology projects for the EADS business divisions as well as corporate R&T organization.
While speaking on the occasion, Yann Barbaux, head of EADS Innovation Works, stated, “Bangalore is India’s aerospace and IT hub, it was important for us to be present. The opening of this new branch of EADS Innovation Works, the third one outside of Europe, will again put some fresh ideas in our innovation process.”
The R&T centre will jointly work with the IISc in Bangalore and IITs in Mumbai, Kanpur and Delhi in order to design next generation simulators and build up software for reducing noise in aero engines.
Moreover, the centre will also run its individual projects by making use of inner resources at its own plants.
Jean Botti, EADS Chief Technical Officer said that the projects would maximize Indian capabilities discovered by EADS in different arenas including numerical simulation of multifaceted physical systems, multi-disciplinary optimization, superior computing and radar technology.
