Gibbs, Ntini left out of South African squad

Gibbs, Ntini left out of South African squadCricket South Africa (CSA) has dropped Herschelle Gibbs and Makhaya Ntini from the South African squad for the ODI series against Zimbabwe and England starting from November 8.

South African team selector Mike Proctor said that it was a very tough decision for them to drop Herschelle Gibbs and Makhaya Ntini from the squad but they were forced to take it for giving opportunity to younger players.

The 35-year-old Gibbs has scored more than 8,000 runs in 245 ODI matches while the 32-year-old Ntini has taken 266 wickets in 173 ODI matches since his debut in 1998.

All-rounder Ryan McLaren, pacer Charl Langeveldt and Alviro Petersen are recalled in the team while wicketkeeper Heino Kuhn and hard-hitting batsman Loots Bosman are two new faces included in the South African squad.

South Africa will play two one-day international matches series against Zimbabwe starting from November 8 before playing two T20 matches series and five ODI matches against England starting from November 13.
