Delhi Daredevils has kept their hopes alive for reaching into the next round of the T20 Champions League as Daredevils has crushed Wayamba by 50 runs in the second match of the Group D at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, New Delhi on Sunday.

Daredevils skipper Gautam Gambhir won the toss and elected to bat first on a slow track in a must win match. Daredevils lost two quick wickets as T Dilshan (10) and Gambhir (3) returned to pavilion for just 45 runs on the board. But thanks to Virender Sehwag and Dinesh Karthik who smashed brilliant half centuries to help their team.

Sehwag scored 66 runs in just 42 balls while Karthik scored blistering 61 runs in 41 balls. Karthik was looking in ominous flow as he smashed three sixes in a row to the mystery spinner Ajantha Mendis. Daredevils scored 170 runs for loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Chasing target of 171, Wayamba batsmen struggled against Daredevils bowling attack.

D Nannes took four wickets while G McGrath also chipped in with two wickets as Wayamba finished their inning at the score of 120 runs for 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Sehwag was declared man of the match.
