Manavjit wins gold medal in ACSC
The world champion Manavjit Singh Sandhu showed his supremacy in the shooting as he has claimed gold medal in the 2009 Asian Clay Shooting Championship (ACSC) in Almaty, Kzakhstan on Friday.
Manavjit trapped 121 out of 125 in the qualification round and he shot 19 out of 25 in the final round to finish at the top. While his compatriot Mansher Singh (113, 21) bagged bronze medal in the same event (113,21). Shagun Chowdhary scored 82 out of 100 to be at the fourth position in the women's category.
Indian team won the silver medal in the team event with a total score of 343 out of 375. Manavjit (121), Mansher (113) and Anwer Sultan (109) were three members of the winning team. The gold medal in the team event was won by Kuwait with a total score of 345.
Indian shooters won four gold medals, two silver and a bronze medal in the event including three gold medals in the individual category by Ronjon Sodhi (double trap), Sangram Dahiya (double trap junior) and Manavjit.
