Kate Moss joins Performing Rights Society
London, Sep 28 : Brit supermodel Kate Moss has joined the Performing Rights Society, which protects the rights of UK musicians and songwriters.
Moss, 35, has worked with a string of singers, and was recently featured on The Lemonheads’ cover album Varshons, and she sang on Primal Scream’s 2003 version of Some Velvet Morning.
She co-wrote four songs with her druggie ex Pete Doherty for Babyshambles’ album Shotter’s Nation, and regularly joined him on stage at gigs by The Libertines, whose hits include What Katie Did.
A Performing Rights Society spokeswoman confirmed on September 27 that Moss had joined them, and stated it was “a smart move”.
“Kate has co-written some songs with Pete Doherty and she will now be able to collect her share of the royalties,” the Sun quoted her as saying.
“For any future songs she writes - and which are played on radio, TV or live - we will also collect the royalties due.
“Both Pete Doherty and Jamie Hince are members. We are glad to welcome Kate too,” she added. (ANI)
