London  - Sheikh Mansour is now the sole owner of Manchester City, the club confirmed on Wednesday.

Sheikh Mansour, part of the ruling family of Abu Dhabi, bought up the remaining 10 per cent of shares from Worldwide Investments Limited for an undisclosed fee.

With an estimated fortune of 1 trillion dollars (555 billion pounds), the sheikh is by far the richest owner in the Premier League.

Manchester City spent more than 100 million pounds in the summer on new players and have made a strong start to the season, sitting fourth in the Premier League table. (dpa)
