Australia wins second ODI against England
Australia has taken 2-0 lead in the one day match series after defeating England by 39 runs in the second ODI match at Lords on Sunday. Australian all-rounder M Johnson was star of the match for Australia. Johnson impressed with his bowling and also contributed significantly with the bat.
England won the toss and elected to field first. Australian team scored 249 runs for loss of eight wickets in their allotted 50 overs. C Ferguson (55) was top scorer for Australia while Johnson contributed 43 runs with the bat late down the order. L Wright and G Swann took two wickets each for England.
England got to a brilliant start as A Strauss (47) and R Bopara (27) scored together 74 runs for the first wicket. But after that English batting order collapsed and their team returned to pavilion at the score of 210 runs in 46.1 overs. B Lee, Johnson and N Bracken took two wickets each. Johnson was declared man of the match.
