Ukrainian tourist kidnapped in Philippine capital
Manila - A Ukrainian tourist was seized by unidentified gunmen wearing police uniforms shortly after arriving in the Philippines, a police report said Thursday.
Valerii Dashevsky was abducted late Wednesday near the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila, the report said.
The victim and two Filipino companions were riding in a pick-up when another vehicle blocked their path and three gunmen seized him, it said.
The victim was scheduled to attend a religious gathering Thursday in the southern city of Davao.
Police have been dispatched to recover the victim. (dpa)
