PCB fires Altaf as Chief Operating OfficerThe Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has dismissed Saleem Altaf from the post of Chief Operating Officer (COO) in the meeting of board members on Monday. Wasim Bari, human resource director of PCB, has been named as acting COO.

PCB officials stated that the members of PCB governing board have taken decision to remove Altaf from the post of COO with immediate effect and Bari will be acting COO till further announcement.

Governing council member Shakil Shaikh said that Altaf was appointed as COO in a hurry last year but now they have sufficient time to nominate best person for the post of COO. Muhammad Ali Shah, council member, admitted that he thinks that Butt would consult them before appointing new COO as they would like to select someone who knows about cricket.

This is second time when Altaf has been sacked from PCB as he was also dismissed by former PCB chairman Nasim Ashraf  for revealing sensitive information to media in June last year. However, he was reappointed on his post after winning the case in Lahore High Court and Supreme Court.
