India's Mahesh Bhupathi and his Bahamian partner Mark Knowles have been seeded third for the men's doubles event of the US Open while the pair of India's Leander Paes and Lukas Dlouhy of Czech has been seeded fourth for same event.

Bhupathi-Knowles duo will start their campaign with match against American James Cerretani and Lovro Zovko of Croatia in the first round. Paes-Dlouhy duo will play against Romanian pair of Victor Hanescue and Grabriel Trifu in their first round match of men's doubles event.

Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza has been seeded 14th with her partner Francesca Schiavone of Italy in the women's doubles event. Sania-Francesca duo will meet Ekaterina Dzehalevich of Belarus and Czech Renata Voracova, in the first round.

Paes will be paired with Cara Black of Zimbabwe while Bhupathi and Sania will play together in the mixed doubles event. Sania may opt to withdraw her name from mixed doubles event due to pain in her right wrist. The draw of mixed doubles has not been decided yet.
