Madrid  - Spanish giants Real Madrid announced on Monday the sale of full-back Miguel Torres to Getafe, for an undisclosed fee.

Torres is the 13th player to leave Real this summer, in a record clearout.

Torres, 23, is a Spanish Under-21 international who can play on either flank. Several young Real players have left for neighbours Getafe in the past four years, helping the latter to stay in the top flight.

One player who will not be leaving Real is Rafael Van der Vaart, despite the club's efforts to persuade him to go. However, coach Manuel Pellegrini has made it clear that he will not pick him.

Van der Vaart, signed from SV Hamburg a year ago, was not even on the subs' bench for Saturday's 3-2 debut defeat of Deportivo Coruna.  dpa
