Datacom Solutions inks ‘Infrastructure Sharing Deal’ with Tata TeleservicesDatacom Solutions, promoted by the consumer electronic goods-maker Videocon Industries, has signed an infrastructure sharing deal with Tata Teleservices (TTSL).

The deal will allow the company to lease bandwidth as well as towers across the country from the Tata group firm.

Under the arrangement, Tata Teleservices will provide transmission services to Datacom Solutions, while Wireless-TT Infoservices (WTTIL), a joint venture of TTSL and Quippo Telecom Infrastructure, will provide passive infrastructure like towers and shelters to the company.

As both Datacom and TTSL are rolling out GSM networks, infrastructure sharing will help the both partners to reduce operating costs.

Shares of Tata Teleservices closed down Rs 0.35, or 1.02%, at Rs 33.80. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE was 1,381,984 (Friday).
