Vishnu through to semifinals of ITF Futures

Vishnu through to semifinals of ITF FuturesChennai Boy Vishnu Vardhan has stormed into the semifinals of the men’s singles event of the USD 10,000 ITF Futures after defeating his compatriot Rupesh Roy in the quarterfinal match at DLTA complex on Thursday. Other two Indian players crashed out of the tournament after losing their respective matches.

The top seeded Vishnu raced away with the match against seventh seeded Roy in straight sets 6-3 6-2 to move to next round.
 
Vishnu will play against fifth seeded Dutch Peter Lucassen in the semifinal. Peter was declared winner of match when N Vijay Sundar Prashant opted to retire from the quarterfinal match at 7-6(3) 2-0.
 
Meanwhile, Ranjeet Virali Murugesan, Indian national champion, also crashed out of tournament as he went down to second seeded Kim Jun-Young of Korea in straight sets 0-6 2-6 in the quarterfinal match.
