PCB to announce Champions Trophy squad tomorrow
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will select the 15-member Pakistan squad for the Champions Trophy from the list of 30-probabales on Friday. Champions Trophy will kick off from 22nd September in South Africa.
The seven-member selection committee of PCB will be headed by former Test spinner Iqbal Qasi. Pakistan team selectors will be looking to finalize a team which will have a mixed blend of experienced and young players for Champions Trophy.
The selectors will also take decision upon fast bowler M Asif after considering his fitness as he had not played any match since July. Asif was out of the action due to one year ban imposed on him by ICC after he failed to clear dope test in the Indian Premier League (IPL) last year.
A source reported that Pakistan selectors would face tough task while they will select squad for Champions Trophy as playing conditions in South Africa are tough and they need to have experienced players in their team to tackle these conditions at a higher altitude.
