Six militants killed in separate encounters in Kashmir
Srinagar, Aug 3 : Six militants, including a top Hizbul Mujahideen commander were killed in three separate encounters in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
According to the Defence Ministry's PRO for the Kashmir Valley and the Ladakh region, Lt. Colonel J. S. Brar, fierce gun battles are continuing between the militants and the security forces in different parts of the state.
Two infiltrators were among four ultras killed in the encounters.
A self-styled Section Commander of the Hizbul Mujahideen, Noor Mohammed, alias Mansoor, was gunned down in Doda district, Lt. Colonel Brar said.
An AK 47 rifle and three magazines were recovered from the body of the slain militant, he added.
Sources said another militant was killed by the army in the Poonch sector.
Lt. Colonel Brar explained that, the heavily-armed militants sneaked into the Kashmir Valley from Tangdhar. He said two militants had been killed at Furkhan near Trehgam.
The militants and security forces are still engaged in a gun battle in Diadan Gali in Pirpanjal sector. (ANI)
