Optima launched MID with 4.3-inch touch screen
China based technology firm, Optima has introduced OP5-E MID, a new mobile internet device powered by the Maemo operating system. The 4.3-inch touch screen MID supports 3G and GPS.
The device is provided with a 3.2-megapixel camera and voice call functionality with dimensions of 5.6" x 2.9" x 0.69". It comes with an 806MHz Marvell PXA320 PCU along with 128MB RAM and 256MB ROM to support full calling facility. The firm aims to provide SMS functionality later in the year, extending its features to make it popular and user friendly.
MID can be used as a phone as it is equipped with speakers and microphone slot. Besides, the device supports the Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, allowing use of the Bluetooth headset. It also supports Wi-Fi b/g, 3G, WWAN and GPS connectivity to experience internet without using wires.
The MID with weight of only 10.6oz comes up with a 2,600mAh battery, having a runtime of approximately 8 hours. It also supports micro SD slot to extend its storage capacity.
The device, currently undergoing final software testing, is yet to be priced by the firm.
