The Indian opener Gautam Gambhir, who has been ranked first in the latest ICC test batsmen rankings, has credited his success in the International cricket to his aggressive opening partner Virender Sehwag.

Gambhir has maintained an impressive average of 54 in the 25 test matches to emerge as only the sixth Indian batsman to top the ICC Test rankings.

Gambhir said that the main reason for his success in the recent past has been the support and guidance provided by his best friend at the other end with whom he batted for long time.

He added that many questions were raised on his batting technique in the past, and he was looking doubtful to survive in test cricket, but now he has been leading in the test rankings.

Gambhir has done exceptionally well in the recent years in all the three versions of the cricket as an opener, and he played a major role in the last five consecutive ODI series win by India.
