Three contracts worth INR 1873.18 crore won by Punj Lloyd in Libya  Three new contract wins valued at INR 1873.18 crore were recently announced by Punj Lloyd. It has been learnt that designing, procurement, installation and commissioning of utilities for 3 towns of Libya would be included in the contract. These contracts, which have been awarded by the Housing and Infrastructure Board, are slated for completion within 48 months.

According to Mr Vimal Kaushik MD of Punj Lloyd, "This is our third infrastructure project in Libya with the same client. We are very proud of our association with Housing and Infrastructure Board and look forward to playing a key role in building the infrastructure of Libya." It has been learnt that design, procurement, installation and commissioning of utilities at Zawara, Ragdaleen and Al Jamail Towns is included in the scope of work for the 3 projects.

Under the utilities for these projects, developing roads, networks for drinking water, sewage water and storm water, electrical and telecommunication work are included.

In August 2006, Punj Lloyd bagged its first contract in North Africa for the engineering, procurement and construction of an oil and gas project for Sirte Oil Company, Libya; after which two infrastructure projects upgradation of infrastructure of Arada and execution of utilities in Souk Al Juma of Tripoli were also won by the group. The order backlog for the Punj Lloyd Group on consolidated basis has gone to INR 23939.21 crore with this notable win.
