India raises medal tally to six in Asian Youth Games
India has raised their medal tally to six medals as India added three more medals on the third day of the first edition of the Asian Youth Games on Thursday.
Rohit Kumar won gold medal for India in the javelin throw event as he cleared 74.60 meters and also breached his previous best record of 71.52 in the Junior Nationals in Mysore last year.
Selwyn Jebaraj with a timing of 54.41 seconds bagged silver medal in the boys 400m hurdles while China's Chen Dong won gold medal with a timing of 53.19sec.
The third medal came for India as Sushma Mekala bagged bronze medal in girl’s 400m hurdles event with registering a timing of 1:03.44sec while Chinese Cheng Yafan (1:02.15 sec) won gold medal and L B Dinh of Vietnam finished at the second spot.
Meanwhile, Indian paddlers defeated Uzbekistan by 3-0 to qualify for the quarter-final in the mixed team championship.
