Pakistan dissolves selection committees
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that it has dissolved Pakistan’s senior and junior selection committees into a single governing body, which will be led by former Pakistan captain Wasim Bari on Tuesday.
PCB said that Ijaz Butt, the PCB chairman, has dissolved national senior and junior selection committees into an interim selection committee which has been effective from the immediate effect.
Bari was appointed as a national selector, who worked with Pakistan skipper Younus Khan and coach Intikhab Alam to select the 15-memner squad for Sri Lankan tour, after the resignation of the chairman of senior selection committee, Abdul Qadir.
Altough, except Bari yet no other member of the interim committee has been announced but Salim Jaffer and Shoaib Mohammad, two members of Qadir’s committee were fired.
The junior selection committee which has been merged with the senior selection committee was working under former Test all-rounder Mohammad Ilyas.
