International Cricket Council (ICC) has removed Kenya as the host of 2010 Under-19 World Cup as Kenya has been not yet ready to host this mega event of cricket.

ICC officials said that it was unlikely that Kenya will be ready to host the 2010 Under-19 World Cup, which has been scheduled to start just after eight months, considering the overall progress until now.

ICC officials further said New Zealand would be the new host of 2010 Under-19 World Cup but it also depends on the agreement of satisfactory terms with the New Zealand cricket board. Now Kenya cricket board will have to face huge losses as they had already spent more than US$150,000 on renovation and improvement of the cricket grounds in Kenya.

ICC Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat said that it was a difficult and regrettable decision to remove Kenya as host of the 2010 Under-19 World Cup.

Meanwhile Cricket Kenya has not yet responded on this decision of ICC.
