As had been predicted, software services provider Satyam Computer Services Ltd unveiled its new brand identity, ‘Mahindra Satyam’, signifying the merger of the Mahindra Group’s values with Satyam's expertise.

Confirming the development, Anand Mahindra, MD & Vice-Chairman, Mahindra Group said: “This rebranding exercise symbolizes an amalgamation of the Mahindra Group’s values with Satyam’s fabled expertise, even as it retains that part of Satyam’s identity which signifies commitment, purpose and proficiency of the organization and its people."

The new name was decided after a two-day meeting of executives of Mahindra Group, Tech Mahindra and Satyam at Hyderabad.

Apart from rebranding, the executives of Tech Mahindra and Satyam also discussed the future strategies of the two companies.

The scam hit IT company recently posted better-than-expected results for the December quarter and the first two months of the fourth quarter.

It should be noted here that Satyam Computers, one of the country’s chief IT companies, stunned the entire Indian market in January when its chief executive officer and B Ramalinga Raju confessed to cooking its books over years.
