ICC approves Karthik as replacement for Sehwag
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved Dinesh Karthik as replacement for the aggressive Indian opener Virender Sehwag in the Indian squad for rest of the matches of the ICC T20 World Cup.
Indian opener, Sehwag was injured during Indian Premier League (IPL-2) when playing for Delhi Daredevils. Sehwag was ruled out from the ICC T20 World Cup as he was unable to recover from the shoulder injury.
ICC's decision about approval of Karthik as replacement for Sehwag was communicated to the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) on Thursday.
Karthik said that he was disappointed on the decision of Indian team selectors of not taking additional wicket-kipper in the ICC T20 World Cup but now he is happy to be included in the Indian squad.
Karthik performed brilliantly in the IPL-2 as he scored 288 runs in the IPL-2 while playing for Delhi Daredevils at a strike-rate of 132.71.
