Bhutia Almost In For East Bengal
The big news doing the rounds is that the Indian soccer skipper, Bhaichung Bhutia is all set to play for East Bengal in the forthcoming I-League season.
Sources asserted that the ace forward player just needs to complete all the required formalities with East Bengal.
Speaking on this, Subhas Bhowmick, coach, East Bengal said: "Bhutia is an Indian icon and still remains the best Indian striker. A player of his calibre is always welcome at East Bengal."
Coomenting over Bhutia, Santosh Bhattacharya, secretary, East Bengal said, "As far as we are concerned, we are in regular touch with him. Whether we can sign him or not? That depends on the decision of Mohun Bagan officials as to when they decide to release him."
It should be noted here that due to a reality show on TV, the 32 year old player missed an exhibition match as well as practice sessions for his club Mohun Bagan. As aresult, the club issued a show cause notice to his commitment.
Meanwhile, Mohun Bagan has decided to take a call on Bhutia at the club executive committee meeting on June 8.
Apart from this, the club in a significant move, signed in Nigerian striker Chidi Edeh for the coming season.
Edeh was earlier playing for Mahindra United. He will join Brazilians Jose Barreto and Marcos Pereira, whom Maohun Bagan retained from the last season.
