Ankita Bhambri has defeated Sagarika Phadke in the first round of the ITF women's tennis tournament at the DLTA Complex on Tuesday.

Ankita won the match in straight sets by 6-3 6-0 in ITF women's tennis tournament which is having $10,000 as its prize money.

First set was won by Ankita by 6-3 while in second set she came strong and won the set without loosing even a single game.

Ankita will now play against Treta Bhattacharya in second round and the winner of that match will advance in quarter-finals of ITF women's tennis tournament.

It should be noted that in last tournament she crashed out in the early rounds and she had spent a lot of time in training and practice which was evident by her performance in this match.
