Vodafone announces to scrap roaming charges for three summer monthsThe mobile network operator running operations in 25 countries and partner networks in a further 42 countries – Vodafone on Wednesday announced that it is scrapping roaming charges – the extra cost of making phone calls or sending text messages while overseas – for three summer months, in 45 regions of the world.  

Vodafone declared that the offer will be available for the subscribers of Vodafone's Passport scheme, a free-to-sign-up service that provides roaming facility in 35 countries for the UK call charge price. The service currently charges 75 pence to initially connect the call.

According to Vodafone, the offer will be valid from 1 June to the end of August, and the roaming charges will be scrapped in 45 regions including Albania, Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Canary Islands, Channel Islands, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Faroes, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Isle of Man, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Madeira, Malta, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, and Vatican City.
