More Professionals might lose jobs at Microsoft if economy worsens
On Tuesday, software giant Microsoft, which earlier had confirmed laying off 5,000 employees including 55 in India, said that if the economic downturn dramatically worsens again, it may look at more layoffs.
It was expressed by Microsoft Corporation CEO Steve Ballmer that the company would finish its plan if the economy stays as bad as it is and doesn't get dramatically worsen; however if it gets dramatically worse again, the company will look at things again.
In the month of January, the Redmond-based company had informed that it would cut 5,000 jobs globally in the middle of the ongoing slowdown.
Yesterday, it put forward slashing one per cent of its 5,500-strong Indian workforce, amounting to 55 layoffs, in a bid to realign its business in the country.
Furthermore, the company also said that it will keep on hiring and create employment opportunities in line with the recovery and growth of the Indian economy.
