Paris  - The French Navy has seized 11 suspected pirates off the coast of Somalia, Paris confirmed Sunday, while divulging few other details.

The Defence Ministry said the suspects were armed with, among other weapons, a missile launcher. The French naval vessel involved was the frigate Nivose. Further details were not given. (dpa)
