Agility Logistics looks for expansion despite economic crisis
Singapore - Kuwait-based Agility Logistics Ltd, one of the world's leading providers of logistics to businesses and governments, plans to continue its expansion aggressively despite the global economic crisis.
"The appetite for growth is very substantial," said Agility chief executive officer for Asia-Pacific Wolfgang Hollermann Friday in Singapore.
Agility, which posted revenue of 6.8 billion US dollars and a net profit of 526 million US dollars for 2008, would look at unique opportunities to expand its business, Hollermann said.
However, it would need an "artistic" balancing to deal with the recession and at the same time to look for opportunities, he added.
In Singapore Agility announced the establishment of a new Asia-Pacific headquarters in the city state and unveiled an additional distribution centre to strengthen its presence in Asia and provide a platform for further growth in the region.
Agility has made significant investment in India and China in recent years, Hollermann said. (dpa)
