Three British soldiers killed in Afghanistan blast, says London London - Three British soldiers were killed by an "improvised explosive device" in southern Afghanistan Wednesday, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) in London said.

The soldiers were hit by a blast in the Gereshk district of Helmand province during an escort operation, the statement said.

The incident brings to 148 the number of British soldiers killed in Afghanistan since 2001. (dpa)
