Rumors floating; Nokia to unveil Symbian app store next week
The latest rumors which are floating all around are that Nokia will soon come out with an AppStore for its Symbian OS. If the rumors are true then the latest store will be announced officially during the upcoming Mobile World Congress, which is set to take place in Barcelona from 16th to 19th February.
No doubt, if Nokia comes out with an AppStore for Symbian, it will definitely help it to gin some advantage and it won't come as a big surprise too since last year the Finnish mobile phones maker has announced the Symbian Foundation.
But we would like to warn our reader to not to believe it as of now, since there has been no confirmation that these rumors might be true, which have been started by Eldar Murtazin, editor of Mobile-review. com, who has a post on his blog related to this matter.
Though Symbian is still the leading OS in the mobile world, however, from past sometime, it had to face an increased competition from Apple's iPhone, Microsoft's Windows for mobile devices, Google's Android and Research in Motion's platform for its Blackberry devices, as well from a mobile version of Linux, dubbed LiMo.
