Paris  - The Paris fashion world has taken note of the parka again and this year they are set to replace down jackets, which were only rediscovered last year.

Fashion houses such as Louis Vuitton, Kris van Assche and Chevignon are taking a new look at the item originally worn by the Inuit.

Sporty models made of high-tech materials, models at the height of fashion complete with fur and even styles reminiscent of the classic, military-style parkas can be found in stores. They can be worn over a classy suit or a casual outfit. (dpa)
