PM to brief 120 Indian envoys on terror, Pakistan
From Monday onwards, Over 120 Indian ambassadors will start a specially convened two-day meeting in the capital. The focus will be on the fallout of the Mumbai attacks and ties with Pakistan. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee will speak to the envoys. Home Minister P Chidambaram is also likely to attend.
Sonia Gandhi, the Congress chief said that the country was capable of giving a befitting reply to those using their soil for abetting and promoting terrorism against it. Gandhi further voiced disappointment over Pakistan's failure to reciprocate India's efforts for better ties. "Our wish for peace and friendship should not be taken as a sign of weakness."
Mukherjee informed, "Pakistan has been contradicting its statements. Enough evidence has been given to Pakistan. Pakistan must cooperate and not contradict us. Mere talk is not enough. Pakistan has to act."
