NMDC Q4 Net Zooms 43%

National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), a public sector NMDC Ltdundertaking, has announced the results for the year and the three months period ended on March 31, 2008.

The company has recorded a substantial rise of 43.03% in its quarterly net profit, which stood at Rs 10,169.70 million, as against Rs 7,110.10 million during the same period of the last year.

For the same period, the company registers 43.3% growth in its EPS (earning per share) at Rs 76.95.

The company’s net sales experienced a boost of 38.47% to Rs 18,945.10 million, whereas the quarterly total income of the company jumped 40.50% to Rs 20,692.50 million, when compared with the prior year period.

On the other hand, the company also announced a substantial rise in standalone net profit for the year ended March 2008.

During the year, the profit of the company mounted 40.12% to Rs 32,509.80 million, as compared to Rs 23,202.10 million in the previous year. The company posted earnings of Rs 245.99 a share during the year, registering 40.12% growth over previous year.

The yearly net sales of the company climbed 36.44% to Rs 57,113.10 million, whilst total income for the year augmented 40.55% to Rs 63,818.40 million, when compared with the last year.

The company’s board has also declared a final dividend of Rs 2,140.9 million for 2007-08.

Shares of the company, on Friday (May 16), declined Rs 37.5 to settle at Rs 1,441.5 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The total volume of shares traded was 23,714.
