New Zealand loses early wickets against Sri Lanka
New Zealand batsmen struggled against the Sri Lankan bowling attack as they lost two wickets for just 89 runs on the board at the end of the second day of the first test match against Sri Lanka at Galle on Wednesday.
M Guptil (24) and D Flynn (14) lost their wickets as New Zealand is still trailing by 365 runs with eight wickets in the hands. T Thushara and A Mendis took one wicket each. Earlier in the day, Sri Lankan team returned to pavilion on the score of 452 runs after resuming from overnight score of 293 runs for loss of 3 wickets.
T Samaraweera (159) was top scorer for Sri Lankan team. M Jayawardene was unable to continue his inning as he lost his wicket at the individual score of 114 runs. C Martin and D Vettori picked up four wickets each while I O'Brien chipped in with two wickets.
