Nepal Government recalls envoy
In a surprising move, Nepal’s new Maoist government asked its ambassador to India, Durgesh Man Singh, to return to Kathmandu immediately.
Singh was alumni of Delhi School of Economics and student of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He was appointed by Girija Prasad Koirala-led government in which the Maoists were also partners, had approved the appointment.
The Maiost Govt. has also recalled Kumar Chalise, the ambassador to the US.
Chalise had worked as foreign affairs advisor to Koirala.
In past few weeks, the Prachand led Govt. has brought into effect major changes in the bureaucratic level. The Nepal government is likely to recall few more Ambassadors. It is also planning to undertake a massive transfer of judges.
