Nanao advances to final

Nanao advances to finalWorld youth champion Thokchom Nanao Singh has entered into the finals of the Asian Boxing Championships in Zhuhai, China on Friday.

Nanao (48 kg) has defeated Nyambayar Tugstogt of Mongolia 15-7 in the semifinal of the Asian Boxing Championships.

Nanao was trailing by 3-4 in the first round against Tugstogt but he came back strongly in second round to take lead by 9-5. Nanao continued his dominance in the third round and won the match to advance in the finals of the Asian Boxing Championships.

Nanao will play against Thai Pongprayoon Keaw in the final of the Asian Boxing Championships on Saturday.

Two other Indian boxers, Suranjoy Singh (51kg) and Jai Bhagwan (60kg) also qualified to the finals of their respective weight categories while Vijender (75kg) and Jitender
(54kg), Paramjit Samota (+91kg) and Dinesh Kumar (81kg) lost their matches in the semifinals and settled with bronze medals in the Asian Boxing Championships.
