N. Ireland shocked by bombings, no one injuredAccording to officials, a bomb appeared was meant for passing police detonated under a bridge in rural Northern Ireland Saturday evening without causing any injuries.

Police were trying to determine who was responsible for the 5:30 p. m. blast on Carrickrovaddy Road between Belleek and Newtownhamilton, The Daily Telegraph has reported.

Dominic Bradley, a Social Democratic and Labor Party member who represents the area in the Northern Ireland Assembly, said, "It looks as if it was aimed at police traveling through the area. The bridge itself is not a major piece of infrastructure, which wouldn't have been targeted, so they must have been using the bridge to disguise the device for passing police.

He further added, "It was wrong in the past and it's wrong today. It serves no purpose. The vast majority of people in south Armagh reject this sort of activity."(With Inputs from Agencies)
