Musharraf believes US distrust of Pakistan will continue under Obama administration
Lahore, Feb. 6 : Pakistan's democratic set-up may have been expecting a change of policies from the new United States administration, but according to the former Pak President General. Parvez Musharraf, the US mistrust of Pakistan regarding the `war on terror' would continue even in the Obama regime.
Musharraf said US's distrust on Pakistan would continue, and it could hamper relations between both the countries.
"Contrary to Pakistan's expectations, the US policy regarding Pakistan, especially with regard to the war on terror in the country, would not change," The Daily Times quoted Musharraf, as saying.
He said the failure of the Pakistan government to establish mutual trust with the Unites States was a matter of great concern for the Pakistani leadership.
Referring to his meetings with US senators John Kerry, Bob Casey and former US Ambassador to Pakistan Wendy Chamberlain and other top officials, Musharraf said most of the officials had expressed deep concerns about the worsening law and order situation in Pakistan.
He added that he was personally making efforts to dispel negative impressions about Pakistan across the world through his lectures. (ANI)
