Muniyappa takes lead in India Open
India’s Chinnaswamy Muniyappa has taken solo lead in the $1.25 million Hero Honda Indian Open after carding one-under-par 71 in the third round at the DLF Golf and Country Club in New Delhi on Saturday.
The 32-year-old, Muniyappa who was tied with Lee Sung of Korea at the end of second round, scored four birdies to finish at a total of score of 10-under-par 206 in the three rounds.
Muniyappa, who is playing in his first Asian Tour season, carded three bogeys including one bogey on the 17th hole when he shot ball into a water hazard. But, he quickly regained his rhythm to card some birdies and placed himself at the top spot.
Australian Marcus Both carded five-under 67 to move to total of nine- under in three rounds while Indians Digvijay Singh (71) and Harinder Gupta (67) and South Korean Lee Sung (72) also carded decent scores.
