Mohit Suri’s Next To Be Based On ‘Racism’

Mohit SuriDirector Mohit Suri is all set to make a Bollywood film based on the recent attacks on students in Sydney and Melbourne that have been described by the Indian media as racial and have sparked fuming protestations in India.

While a big number of celebs from the Hindi film industry have criticized the racial acts meted out to Indians in Australia, Suri decided to proceed and make a movie on the real life instances.

Mohit said, “A school friend of mine, now settled in Australia has narrated to me the goings-on there and it’s horrific. Now, more than 60,000 students have got together and are protesting against racial discrimination and inappropriate conduct meted out to Asians there. I’ve decided to make a film on it.”

However, Mohit hasn’t finalized the film cast thus far.

“Right now it’s a boy and girl story. But it’s too early to say anything. I plan to go on floors with this film in December. The script, of course, will be ready much before that.”

Big B may have disdained his honour by the Australian administration, Aamir Khan hit the acts of racial discrimination, but tragedies of real world make an interesting film material, atleast for Mohit.

Well Mohit’s plans may be fine, but it seems that the lesions of these attacks are too fresh to pen it into a playscript, and bring more pain through a film on the subject.
