Moenchengladbach, Germany  - Borussia Moenchengladbach defeated Mainz 2-0 Friday to move to fourth in the German Bundesliga.

Argentinian striker Raul Bobadilla opened the scoring in the 29th minute and Marco Reus made sure of the points with a second six minutes from time.

Moenchengladbach have seven points, level with three teams at the top - Bayer Leverkusen, SV Hamburg and Schalke 04.

It was a first defeat for promoted Mainz - 2-1 winners over Bayern Munich last week - who are seventh on five points.

The Bundesliga programme continues Saturday with six matches including the later kick-off between Bayern Munich and champions Wolfsburg.  (dpa)
